At Southside Bible Fellowship we hold to historic Biblical Christian truth. Our basic beliefs may be summarized in the following statements:
The Bible
We believe that the Bible was given by God and is the perfect and final authority for faith and life.
The Godhead (Trinity)
We believe that the Only True God exists eternally in three distinct Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; and that He is holy and perfect in all He is and does.
God the Son
We believe that Jesus Christ is God's Eternal Son; that He was born of a virgin, lived His earthly life without sin, died on the cross to pay the price for humanity's sin, rose bodily from the dead, returned to His Father's side in Heaven, and will return to earth in power and glory.
God the Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit is co-equal in Deity with God the Father and Jesus Christ; and that He lives within, comforts, corrects and empowers those who believe and receive Jesus Christ as Savior.
Man
We believe God created Adam and Eve in His image but they chose to disobey Him and brought a sin nature to all of us as their descendants.Salvation
We believe that Jesus Christ came to earth as a man and died on the cross to make forgiveness from sin possible for all; and that anyone who turns away from sin and receives Jesus as Savior becomes a child of God forever.
Baptism and the Lord's Supper
We believe Jesus commanded His followers to picture and remember His death and resurrection through believers' baptism by immersion, and the Lord's supper.
The Church
We believe each local church is autonomous but interrelated with all who honor Jesus Christ as Savior.
